Class descriptions



Green Zone Fitness offers classes for all training styles. Go at your own pace with Fitness on Demand, get a full body workout with Functional Training, or try our 12 Rounds Boxing Circuit for an intensive professionally guided workout.

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

Functional Training is suitable to all ages and fitness levels and modifications will be provided during the class by our qualified Personal Trainers. Functional training allows you to burn body fat and improve your body composition whilst focusing on strength, stability, mobility, endurance and flexibility to enhance your daily activities. You will use basic functional movement patterns like pushing, pulling, squatting, rotating, lifting, walking and running. Functional training incorporates exercises that improve your movement in these primary patterns, giving you an extra edge and enhancing your performance so you can achieve your goals safely and with good health.

Abs, Buns & Guns

Do you want to get ripped abs, a perky booty and toned arms? If so, then this class is perfect for you! You will be using all sorts of equipment in this class – resistance bands for your booty, barbells for your arms and TRX suspension systems for your core. All completed in 30 minutes, this class is ideal for those of you with a lot on your schedule. Intensity 3/5

Afterburn

High intensity interval training designed to blast calories and burn stored body fat long after you finish working out.  This class incorporates the use of kettle bells, body weight, TRX, battle ropes and other equipment with a focus on muscular endurance and cardiovascular fitness. Intensity 5/5

Barbaric

Push through the pain barrier and push your muscles to failure with Barbaric. Build strength and drive yourself to the limit using only a weighted barbell & your body weight. We focus on strength & muscular endurance. Intensity 5/5

Fast Five

Slam some medicine balls, sprint at top speed whilst pushing a sled, jump into boxes, and flip some heavy tractor tyres – all in 30 minutes. “Fast Five” incorporates resistance and cardiovascular training into 5 stations that you will complete two times through. Be prepared to enter a high intensity class that will push you to the MAX for 30 minutes. Intensity 5/5

GZ-X

Not for the faint hearted. This class is for people who are more technically sound and are comfortable lifting heavier weights. We focus on advanced movements and increasing your overall strength whilst pushing you to your limits. We encourage experienced gym-goers to attend this class, if you want to get involved ask one of our trainers how you can prepare for GZX. Intensity 5/5

Industrial Strength

Be prepared to grit your teeth. Tone up and define your muscles with these time based movements. This class incorporates the use of resistance training via barbells, kettle bells, dumbbells, tyres and anything else we can get our hands on with a focus on strength endurance. Intensity 3/5

LIT-30 (Low Impact Training for 30 minutes)

LIT-30 is targeted at the senior demographic but is open to those who want something a little less intense. We incorporate functional and core focused movements to help maintain mobility, balance, strength and muscle tone. Intensity 3/5

Spartan

Get fit fast with Spartan! This 10 station circuit will test your endurance! 90 seconds of work, 30 seconds recovery and 10 different functional movements. Intensity 5/5

Sunday Session

The Sunday Session, a great way to kick start your Sunday and fire up your metabolism. Very similar to a WOW class, combining the best of functional training to give you a high intensity calorie burning session. Intensity 5/5

WOW Class

Our Green Zone trainers earn the rights to their own WOW (workout of the week) class when they establish a significant member following in the gym. A WOW class combines the best of functional training to give you what they feel is the most fun and effective workout all whilst focusing on fat burning and muscular endurance. Intensity 5/5

12 ROUNDS BOXING CIRCUIT

Our 12 Round Circuit is unlike anything you’ve tried before. Did we mention it’s also a lot of fun? Our high intensity group workouts are designed by professional trainers to help you reach and smash your fitness goals. Built around functional strength, conditioning and sports-based cardio activities the 12 Round Circuit provides a dynamic ‘total body’ workout. Absolutely no excuses, with a new round starting every 3 minutes you don’t even need to book in.

Hit-Out

Get lean and train like a boxer in our boxing conditioning class. This class incorporates a combination of boxing technique and boxing specific movements with a focus on endurance, cardiovascular fitness, power and agility. Intensity 4/5

WELLNESS

Ranging from Pilates to Yoga, our wellness classes are an energising and social way to work up a sweat whilst also offering you a gentle way to keep you fit and flexible. All of our instructors are qualified, supportive and passionate about what they do. They make it easy for participants of all ages and fitness levels to get motivated and have fun while getting fit!

Pilates

Build a stable, strong and supple body. Pilates exercise systems systematically strengthen your body whilst building flexibility and spinal mobility. That equates to a body that moves well and feels AMAZING! Pilates fuse body and mind through focused attention on movement and breathing, leaving you centered and relaxed, yet invigorated after each session.

Yoga

Yoga is a very personal practice and individual journey for everyone who steps onto the mat. Everyone has their reason; some people use it as a form of exercise, for some it is a time of introspection and meditation and others as a form of social enrichment. No matter what gets you on the mat, remember it is an uplifting practice that promotes physical health and mental wellbeing. We will give you a good foundation with introduction to basic yoga poses, breathing techniques and overall personal awareness.
